Announcing the Bibliomania Competition for Arabic Fiction – BCAN

Bibliomania Publishing and Distribution House is pleased to announce the opening of the door for receiving works to participate in the #Bibliomania Competition for Arabic Fiction (BCAN) for the year 2022.
Contest prizes for the top three places are as follows:

first place:

A symbolic financial prize of one hundred dollars, in addition to publishing and distributing the novel in fifteen countries around the world, as well as participating in all international exhibitions in which the house participates.

Second place:

A symbolic financial prize of fifty dollars, in addition to publishing and distributing the second-place winning novel in fifteen countries around the world, as well as participating in all international exhibitions in which the House participates.

the third place:

Publishing and distributing the third-place winning novel in ten countries around the world, as well as participating in all international exhibitions in which the House participates.

#Contest_Terms
(Please read carefully):
Novels of all kinds (social – historical – emotional – police – philosophical – horror … etc.) are accepted according to the following rules:

1- The number of words in the novel should not be less than fifteen thousand words (15,000) and not more than forty thousand words (40,000).

2 – The work should not have been previously published in paper or electronic format.

3 – It is required that the participating novel be in a sound Arabic language, and have been revised and proofread linguistically, and this will be taken into account in the event that more than one work is equal in points.

4 – After the result is announced, the author of the winning novel is obligated to hand over the novel’s file after the necessary review and full linguistic proofreading. The house is committed to coordinating it and extracting the deposit and ISBN numbers, as well as designing the cover and other steps of publishing the book.

5- Subscription requirements:

(a)- Work file*
(b) Work summary (word file) *
(C) The identity of the author (a copy of the identity card or passport) *
(D) A handwritten declaration from the author (to be drawn by a scanner or a good photocopy of the mobile so that it is clear) or from his agent, or from his guardian, – (A copy of the agency contract or proof of dependency is attached as the identity of the authors’ guardian who are the authors Under the age of sixteen) – stating his approval to publish automatically in the event his novel wins one of the three winning places, and freezing the publication of the work or participating in it in any other competition during the period of deciding on the participating works, with the exception of works that did not play a role in the advanced stages of the competition. , (and in case the work is not on the list of works eligible to win or for the next stage) the announcement on the official house page of the works qualified for the next stage is considered an acknowledgment by the competition committee that the author, his agent, or his guardian has the right to dispose of the work freely, whether by direct publication or submitting it for other competitions.

6- Any work that did not provide the previous obligations and papers will not be considered, and it should be taken into account that they are all combined in one email and not more.

7- Works should be sent in word format, papers and photos in jpg or pdf format, to the following email only:

8- All novels participating in the competition are presented to the competent committees to decide on them in three stages, to be announced periodically according to the time allotted for each stage by a committee concerned with the House of Bibliomania.

9- The decisions of the business committees are binding, but grievances are accepted, provided that they are decided upon within a maximum of two weeks from the date of sending them also via e-mail.

10- Receiving the participating works will start from the tenth of June until the thirtieth of June, 2022
(From 10-6-2022 to 30-6-2022.)

11- The first winning places will be announced on September 1, 2022, God willing.

12- Works that qualified for the long list and were not fortunate enough to win one of the first three places, have priority in publishing at Bibliomania House in accordance with the policy of Bibliomania for Publishing and Distribution, if the contestant so desires.

13- Prizes will be awarded in a celebration of #Blomani_Day on the sidelines of the Cairo International Book Fair 2023, God willing.
