The Odyssey follows the Greek hero Odysseus’ long and perilous journey home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy. Over the course of ten years, Odysseus faces numerous challenges, including encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the enchantress Circe, the Sirens, and the sea monster Scylla. Meanwhile, back in Ithaca, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus struggle against suitors vying for Penelope’s hand and Odysseus’ throne. With the help of the goddess Athena, Odysseus eventually returns home, defeats the suitors, and reunites with his family.
